Mr. Schumann is a founding Partner at Schumann Arevalo LLP. He earned his Juris Doctorate from Western State University College of Law. He is admitted to practice in all State and Federal Courts in the State of California. He is also a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates ("ABOTA"), the American Bar Association and the Orange County Bar Association. He is also a member of the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance (CLM).
Mr. Schumann specializes in the handling of high-exposure, complex multi-party general liability cases arising out of major accidents and often involving life-altering injury including paralysis, dismemberment and brain injury and/or wrongful death. Exemplar cases have involved trucking accidents, serious motor vehicle accidents, construction defect, strict products liability and premises liability. Additionally, Mr. Schumann has successfully defended complex professional liability cases within the property management and interior design fields and defended high-profile/media-interest matters involving allegations of intentional conduct such as libel and slander. Mr. Schumann's broad civil litigation practice also extends to business litigation, insurance bad-faith defense, unfair competition, contractual disputes as well as defending misrepresentation and fraud cases. He has completed numerous complex civil jury trials, binding and non-binding arbitrations and mediations with a superior rate of success for his corporate and individual clients. He uses his experience to his clients' advantage, often identifying and successfully utilizing unique and sophisticated approaches to litigation issues to accomplish his clients' goals.
